Cruddas Park(Riverside Dene) Flats Demolition
Work has begin last week to demolish high rise flats that have dominated Newcastle’s skyline since the 1960s. The tower blocks in Cruddas Park went up as part of T Dan Smith’s vision for a “city in the sky”.
Work to dismantle five of the housing blocks should take around nine months.
The Beeches, The Poplars, The Willows, King’s Meadows, and Haughton Court will come down as efforts to regenerate the area, now known as Riverside Dene, continue.

The photographs are fantastic by the way but the flats directly opposite the church spire are The Willows not the Beeches
Thanks.
