Bill Quay Community Farm

Bill Quay Community Farm is a working farm along the banks of the Tyne managed by Gateshead Council and a community management association. The farm was set-up in the mid-1980s to educate and entertain the local community and it has developed into an acclaimed rare breeds centre and well used leisure facility.

Bill Quay is one of only 16 farm parks nationally recognised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust in the UK. Breeds include Tamworth pigs, Jacob sheep, Hebridean sheep, Scots Grey hens and Bagot goats. It plays host to Chickenstock, a showcase festival for local Gateshead based bands that happens yearly.
